Friday Fun Day

I jumped on the bandwagon a while back and got a few smash books (yes you read that right) I have only completed two pages. I feel like I put more thought and time into these little pages then I do a normal card or scrapbook page. I think it is because my smash books will be completely about me and what I love.  It seems easier to make one for someone else or to make a card.  Anyhoo here is the second page that I have added to my smash book.

I used the small Martha Stewart envelopes and wrote my future self a note. I added washi tape to the top and a few small embellishments throughout. I actually love this picture. I don't think you can tell from this but it is one of those pencil outline pictures and it is such a light pencil outline. It is one of my favorite new features when I am editing pictures.

Also at the beginning of the month I entered into the DCWV Diary August stack-a-holic challenge for cards. If you want to enter too you can at: http://dcwvinc.blogspot.com/2012/08/august-stack-hoic-challenge.html

Here is my August entry.....

I used the serenity stack and DCWV border strips for the solid color. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch and the EK success picture corner punch to make the ends of the pendents.

And as always thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a wonderful Friday afternoon!

Tissue Paper Flowers

Today I am going to share with you how to make simple and beautiful tissue paper flowers! Here is what you will need: 1. Tissue Paper 2. Punch that is round or shaped like a flower 3. Brads 4. Small paper circle 5. Tool that will make a hole. I use a sharp pointed tool since a hole punch may not reach where I want the hole to be
You will then fold the tissue paper multiple times so that you can cut many flowers at one time. I did 5 folds which left me with many flowers. Then place the tissue paper in the punch and make your flowers.
Once you have your flowers you will then punch a hole in the middle of them and secure them with a brad.
Once this has been done and the brad is holding all pieces together you can start to take the first layer and bunch it up in the middle. Continue doing this until you have two to three piece remaining.
Now fluff out all of the pieces that you have bunched up and you have the flower! Your remaining step which is optional is to glue a small circle on the bottom so that it can be attached to anything later on.
And there you have it! Pretty little tissue paper flowers!
