Alright for anybody who has a Walgreens in there area (which is everyone I think) they have marked down their dove hair care items to 75% off and are only $1.24. I used a $1 off coupon and got the shampoo and conditioner for a whopping $0.48!! I better get this spending problem of mine under control.

I also got some free key lime pie dessert delight gum after using a $0.75 off coupon! And it tastes and smells just like key lime pie! Yummy!

Storage Unit Auctions and more

Well my hubby and I decided to go and see what these storage auctions are all about. For one they are crowded. It was nice to people watch and enjoy a free coke and bag of chips while watching everyone try to see in the unit and bid on the unit. However I am not sure if I would ever want to win one because then you are forced to sale all of someones old stuff. I have a hard enough time getting rid of my old stuff. For now I will stick to watching.

As for deals this weekend I can honestly say I did not do any shopping besides Target. I did get my hands on a two pack of space heaters for only $24. Marked down of course. They are great if you have propane or natural gas as your heating costs since here in Texas we can get pretty cheap electric. Only a months time will tell when the bills come in.

It was the only thing I bought this weekend :( Happy shopping for the the rest.

Just a quick tidbit

If any people out there are Target-aholics like myself I suggest you find yourself there as there are tons of clothes 75% off. I got my hubby 2 t-shirts that he loves for a whopping $1.99 each! I call that a steal since they cost that much used. I also picked up a great fleece jacket for $7.48 originally $30 and a vest for $2.47. Big spender! They also are having tons of toy clearance and childrens clothing clearance. So take an extra minute for yourself today and stop by Target. You never know what you might find.

Join and earn some free stuff!

So I found out about this website called www.recyclebank.com. You can earn points by learning about recycling from companies. Once you get points you can turn them in for different things. The first time you register and get points you can easily get 125 which will get you a free magazine subscription to Better Homes and Gardens, Good Housekeeping, Food Everday, and more! Or you can turn points in for coupons like $1 off any coca cola product which can get you a free or close to free 2-liter of coke! Be sure to check it out. You wont regret it!

Also be sure to check out Amazon.com everyday so you can get the song of the day for free if it is something you like. I always listen to the preview and if I like it I take it. There are so many songs that are given away free that then turn out to be hits and I never had to pay for it!

Also if you are freebie and coupon user like me I also suggest you check out http://absurdlycool.com/ where they list freebies everyday and when you get them they usually have a coupon inside.

And one last note of savings today, don't forget that you can use coupons on items that are on clearance at your local stores which gives you a chance of getting things you may need like shampoo marked down for free or close to free with using a coupon.

Long weekend and a little savings....

Boy look at me. I took a long weekend before I head back to classes. I did get a small amount of shopping done this weekend but mostly we entertained guests. I had my first savory crepe. I have never had any kind of crepe before and I must say it was delicious. We went to a little hole in the wall called Le Crepe. Fabulous!

As for some savings. I picked up some needed household items at Target. In case you were not aware Target allows you to use a manufacturers coupon and a Target coupon. I got an Olay body bar that was free of charge thanks to a $1 off coupon, Halls cough drops for $0.22 with a manufacturers coupon and Target coupon, One box of Nexcare bandages for $0.37 after a manufacturers coupon and Target coupon, One Old Spice deodorant free of charge after coupon, Carmex for the hubby for $0.72, and last but least yogurt was on sale for $1.66 for a 4 pack of Dannon and I used a $0.50 coupon making a 4 pack $1.16 and I picked up two at that price. My whole trip after bringing my own bags which target will give you $0.05 for was $3.53. They were all needed items and I was able to save 75% off my total.

I also made my way to Michaels and found a Christmas DCWV stack for $3.99 which was originally $19.99. Great savings!

Great deal on Special K cereal and more

Okay folks I decided to pick up some cereal to have around since we will have house guests and I want them to be able to eat a quick breakfast if they need to. So I printed the buy one get one free coupon from the Special K website. Then went to the Target website and printed the coupon to save $1 when you buy two boxes of Special K. They were on sale for $2.50. I also used my own bag which Target will give you $0.05 to use. So for two boxes of Special K (Cinnamon pecan and Oats and Honey) I paid a whopping $1.45. Pretty cheap if you think about it. I just paid $1.45 for a weeks worth of breakfast for two people. Basically that is $0.21 a day for breakfast. Now that is just smarts!
Special K Cereal, Original, 18-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 3)

Also for all you $1 stamp hoarders you can pick them up at JoAnns for half off for ones that they are clearing out.

And remember that it is not always cheaper to rent a textbook. For example: To rent my international business text it would have cost me $33 and to buy it was $ 36 after using online coupons to just buy it and then I still have the option to sell it on Amazon for at least $45 right now. Thats right I am going to make a profit on my college textbook. That hardly ever happens! Always think about what you will get back out of a purchased textbook before renting because it seems cheaper at first!

Big Lots and a few great finds!

I love big lots for so many reasons I can't explain. For one they always have great deals on scrapbook merchandise and I like to hoard it. I would say its one of my dirty little secrets but I'm pretty sure most people know :) I have attached a picture to show some of the things I picked up at Big Lots. I got 3 stamps for $0.50 and brads for $1.00. The stamps are normally $1.00 and the brads are normally $3.99. I consider them both a great deal!

I also found myself at CVS pharmacy where I also scored some amazing swag. I got 6 bags of white tissue paper for a $1.14, a 4 pack of Christmas wrapping paper for $0.79 (Which one looks like it can be used year round), and silver gift wine bags for $0.39 which I will put to good use throughout the year. Never ignore holiday clearance! Many things can be found at an amazing price that can be used all year long. I do gather a few ornaments and things but very few. Mostly I like things that can be used throughout the year!

Gotta love Garden Ridge!

If you are lucky enough to have a Garden Ridge than you are lucky enough to score this deal. In the winter and when my hubby travels for hunting he always complains that he doesn't have enough long underwear. And what do I find marked down 75% at Garden Ridge? Long underwear. You can pick up a package with a top and bottom for the amazing price of $2.50! That is a steal. I have found them for as low as $4.99 but never as low as $2.50. Fantastic I tell you!

As you can see above what they cost at Amazon. I also decided to swing by the local Target and I am so glad I did. I picked up a Christmas CD for next year by Lady Antebellum for a whopping $0.69. Outta control! I also picked up two ornaments that ran me $0.50 and they are so fitting of my hubby! Gotta get out there to find those deals!

Great Deal from JoAnns.

I have such a love hate relationship with JoAnns Fabrics. Right now it is on the love side. I just went there and found 3 8x8 DCWV stacks marked down from $14.99 to $3.97. Major score! Only a few are marked down. I picked up the magnetic stack, the animal crackers stack and the latte stack.

I could even resale them for more if I wanted too but I want them for myself. So if you are a scrapbook paper hoarder like myself get yourself down to JoAnns and pick up some paper.

Quick Update and New info!

Well the crock pot bag by reynolds was the best invention ever! Not a drop in the pot. It was if I never used it! Woo Hoo!

Now on to some useful information that you may want. Amazon is your best friend. You may not know it yet but it is. For one you can sell a lot of your used items on the market place. For example I just finished reading a book then I listed it on Amazon Marketplace, paid for and printed the shipping label right from Amazon and did not use any money other than what I made for selling the book. How great is that? All I have to do now is drop it off at any mailbox drop off and its shipped. No lines and I did it in my jammies. What you ask did they charge me for this? $0.17 and it was worth every penny over the price of shipping. I didn't have to pay for the shipping out of my pocket and stand in line. Two great things!

Also if you sign up for Opinion outpost surveys (link to the left of this post down the page a little ways)you can turn credits that you earn from surveys into Amazon gift cards. And each point is worth $0.10 and each survey is normally 20 points or more and are about 1o-15 minutes. Super simple and a great way to get things you want like music!
